Terms and Conditions

1. Definitions

- Instructor: The individual providing driving instruction.

- Student: The individual receiving driving instruction.

- Lessons: Scheduled sessions during which the Instructor provides driving instruction to the Student.

2. Booking and Cancellation

- Booking: All lessons must be booked in advance and confirmed by both the Instructor and the Student.

- Cancellation by Student: Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson. Cancellations made within 48 hours will incur a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the lesson.

- Cancellation by Instructor: The Instructor reserves the right to cancel or reschedule lessons with at least 48 hours' notice. In emergencies or unavoidable circumstances, the Instructor will notify the Student as soon as possible and reschedule the lesson at no extra cost. Instuctor cannot be responsible for lesson cancellation due to mechanical breakdown, but will endeavour to find a replacement vehicle as soon as possible.

3. Payment

- Payment Terms: Payments must be made in advance or at the beginning of each lesson. Accepted payment methods include cash, or Bank transfer.

- Refunds: Refunds will be issued for any prepaid lessons that are cancelled by the Instructor. No refunds will be given for lessons cancelled by the Student within 48 hours of the scheduled time.

4. Lesson Requirements

- License: The Student must hold a valid license or provisional license and must carry it during all lessons.

- Punctuality: The Student must be punctual for all lessons. The Instructor is not obliged to extend the lesson time if the Student is late.

- Conduct: The Student must behave in a safe and respectful manner. The Instructor reserves the right to terminate a lesson if the Student is deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if the Student's behavior is inappropriate or dangerous.

5. Vehicle Condition

- Instructor’s Vehicle: The Instructor will provide a vehicle that is roadworthy, insured, and equipped with dual controls.

- Student’s Vehicle: If the Student wishes to use their own vehicle, it must be insured, roadworthy, and meet all legal requirements. The Instructor may refuse to conduct the lesson if the vehicle does not meet these standards.

6. Liability

- Instructor Liability: The Instructor is not liable for any damage, injury, or loss incurred during lessons, except where such damage, injury, or loss is caused by the Instructor’s negligence.

- Student Liability: The Student is liable for any fines, penalties, or damage incurred as a result of their driving, except where such incidents are caused by the Instructor’s negligence.

7. Complaints and Disputes

- Complaints: Any complaints should be addressed to the Instructor in the first instance. The Instructor will endeavor to resolve any issues promptly and fairly.

- Disputes: Any disputes arising from these terms and conditions will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Instructor operates.

8. Termination

- Termination by Instructor: The Instructor reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time for any reason, with appropriate notice given to the Student.

- Termination by Student: The Student may terminate this agreement at any time, subject to the cancellation policy stated above.

9. Amendments

- The Instructor reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any amendments will be communicated to the Student in writing and will take effect immediately unless otherwise stated.

10. Privacy and Data Protection

- The Instructor will collect and process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. The data collected will be used solely for the purpose of providing driving instruction and will not be shared with third parties without the Student's consent.

By booking and attending lessons with the Instructor, the Student agrees to these terms and conditions.

Unless 48 hours notice given, any lesson cancellations will be changed at your current lesson rate.

The Driving Instructor has the right to withdraw the tuition car for the day of your driving test if, in the driving Instructor’s opinion, the candidate is not deemed to be the required test standard. 

The Driving School cannot be responsible for lesson cancellation due to mechanical breakdown, but will endeavour to find a replacement vehicle as soon as possible. 

JJM Driving School will provide the pupil with a dual controlled car in a clean, roadworthy and tidy condition. 

JJM Driving School has a strict no smoking policy.
